2007 - The Year of Ruwa

2007 – The Ruwa Shout of God - Joshua 6:1-16.

God said this will be a year of signs, wonders and miracles, a year of great joy, but you must: SEE it, OBEY what He tells you, and then SHOUT when He tells you. 

“Ruwa” means several things: to mar, especially by breaking, to split the ears with sound, to shout, to raise a sound, give a blast, war cry, to sound a signal for war, to shout in triumph over enemies, and to shout for joy.

Places we could not get into, we will get into this year because the enemy’s ears will be split with a sound.  The Ruwa shout knocks down the walls so that WE CAN GET INTO THE CITY.  When we RUWA, God hears.  It did not say shout if you are winning.  First you MUST SEE, then you go to war against an enemy that is oppressing you. Then you shout with a joyful, ear-splitting sound of triumph.Prayer and seeking the Lord is a strategic key for this year, especially for leadership.

The Ruwa shout works with the Ruach breath of God in Ezekiel 37, His breath will bring to life those dead, dry areas; that’s REVIVAL.  We are looking for REFORMATION.  Revival repaints an old building; reformation rebuilds a new one.  Revival is the recovery of breath from a long run, while reformation is a whole set of lungs.  Revival is awakening a sleeping church, while reformation is the dismantling (Ruwa) of secular ways and replacing them with Christian core values.

In our city, because we are getting in, the Christian 3.7% among ages 1-18 must change; and once in the city, God will show us how to rebuild the walls properly.  Once in a city we must be relevant, accepting, and inclusive; we must be life giving, NOT law-giving.  Wisdom builds a city.  While everyone may not go to church, everyone should know the benefits and blessings of living in the city and that GOD DID IT!  The Ruwa shout gets us in and keeps us in, but the rebuilding takes time.

God’s order for rebuilding is:

1. A burdened heart for our city
2. Bended knees (prayer)
3. Clean minds (Passionate fire and Intelligent fire)
4. Calloused hands

Every community has five spheres of influence: Church, Education, Government, Media/Entertainment, and Business.  We must have influence in all five areas!

We must become community minded this year, not just church minded.  This is our mandate from the Lord for the next five years. You will SEE your city different this year; your burden will increase.

If we stay “rapt in His power” we will SEE our city differently, as Joshua did.  Will you be a warrior like Joshua was, SEE, OBEY, and then DO?
